Many of us treat infections as part of a pattern: from clinical presentation, to diagnosis, to management. We learned a certain approach and we continue to do it that way without understanding why that guidance was developed. Using recently published literature challenging myths/dogmas around our approach to common infections, I will present the evidence, and sometimes lack of evidence and challenge the learner to equip themselves to understand the basis for their treatment approaches.
