Description
Childhood obesity is a serious public health concern that was only made worse by the Covid-19 pandemic. The chronic disease puts children at risk for serious short and long-term health complications. Obesity is associated with heavy stigma and sensitivity and is often a diagnosis providers are hesitant to manage; however, as recent guidelines published for the first time by the AAP highlight, "watchful waiting" is no longer the standard of care and this issue should be addressed with importance and urgency.
